Learn to Sing
The aim of these ‘Learn to Sing’ webpages is not to be a complete course in singing, but to give some basic information which encourages self-study, allowing singers to improve at their own rate.
These pages have been developed by a member of the Practice Choir. Most of these pages contain links to material on YouTube. Whilst the Practice Choir does not take responsibility for their content, we hope that you find them useful.
Currently there are three main sections:
Learning to sing solo - includes singing technique, such as breathing and resonance.
Musical literacy - making sense of printed music. Understanding musical signs and nomenclature, becoming comfortable with intervals and hence improving sight-singing.
Learning to sing as part of a choir - different male and female voices, how to find your first note, following the conductor. There is nothing in this section as yet.
