Greyfriars Kirk, 21st March 2010
This was a joint concert with the Edinburgh University Singers supported by the Classical Entertainment Orchestra, with John Kitchen playing the organ and Bruce Davis conducting the choir for the last time.
The Practice Choir wishes to thank all the participants, and particularly Bruce Davis and John Kitchen, for making this film clip available.
This excerpt is of Finlandia by Sibelius. The choir starts singing after about 6 minutes.
The programme for this concert also included Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms, Faure’s Pavane, Parry’s I was glad when they said unto me, Poulenc’s Organ concerto with strings and Vaughan Williams’ Antiphon from Five Mystical Songs.
